Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. General Information

This Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to all services booked through privatetours.pt, operated by Autavantgarde, Lda, including private tours, transfers, chauffeur services, driver-guided tours, guided tours, and tailor-made experiences.

By making a booking, the client agrees to this policy in full.


2. Cancellation by the Client

2.1 Free Cancellation

  • Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time of the service.

  • Cancellations must be requested in writing via email to [email protected].


2.2 Late Cancellations

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the tour or service start time are non-refundable.

  • No partial refunds apply.


2.3 No-Shows

  • Failure to appear at the agreed pickup location and time is considered a no-show.

  • No-shows are non-refundable and the full booking amount will be charged.


3. Non-Refundable Items

The following items are strictly non-refundable, under all circumstances:

  • Entrance tickets to monuments, attractions, museums, or events

  • Pre-booked third-party services

  • Time-specific reservations

  • Any service explicitly marked as non-refundable at the time of booking

These costs are charged by third parties and cannot be recovered once confirmed.


4. Refund Conditions

4.1 Refund Method

  • All approved refunds will be issued using the same payment method originally used for the booking.

  • Refunds to alternative payment methods are not permitted.


4.2 Transaction & Processing Fees

  • Payment processing fees, transaction fees, or banking charges are non-refundable.

  • These fees will be deducted from the refunded amount, where applicable.


4.3 Refund Timeframe

  • Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days.

  • The time required for the funds to appear in the client’s account depends on the payment provider or bank.


5. Weather Conditions

  • Tours and services are not refundable due to weather conditions.

  • In cases of severe weather that affect safety or feasibility, Privatetours.pt reserves the right to reschedule the service, subject to availability.

  • No refunds apply for weather-related changes.


6. Delays & Missed Time

  • If the client arrives late, the delay will be deducted from the total service duration.

  • No refunds or extensions are provided for late arrivals.


7. Changes by Privatetours.pt

Privatetours.pt reserves the right to modify or cancel a service due to:

  • Safety concerns

  • Weather conditions

  • Traffic or road restrictions

  • Force majeure events

In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to:

  • Reschedule the service, or

  • Offer an alternative solution of equal value

Refunds are only considered when rescheduling is not possible.


8. Force Majeure

Privatetours.pt shall not be held liable for cancellations or changes resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters

  • Government restrictions

  • Strikes

  • Accidents

  • Security or public health emergencies

No refunds are guaranteed in force majeure situations.


9. Chargebacks & Disputes

  • Clients are encouraged to contact us directly before initiating any chargeback.

  • Unjustified chargebacks may result in additional fees and permanent refusal of future bookings.

  • This policy will be used as supporting documentation in dispute resolution.


10. Governing Law

This Cancellation & Refund Policy is governed by Portuguese law, and any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal.
