If you’re visiting Portugal, make sure to visit Sintra. This beautiful village is located just 30 minutes from Lisbon, and it’s filled with majestic palaces, fairytale castles, and fascinating mansions. The scenery is amazing, with lush hills and forests, rocky mountain ranges, and dense vegetation. And the beaches—known as the “Monte da Lua” during the Celts period and “Mons Lunae” by the Romans—are simply beautiful. You won’t regret visiting Sintra, and you’ll be sure to leave inspired.
Sintra is a well-known tourist destination for its beautiful mansions and luxury properties. For centuries, the Portuguese royal family has used these properties as summer homes to enjoy the fresh air and refreshing climate of the mountain. Consequently, Sintra continues to be a popular destination for writers and filmmakers from all over the world, who find inspiration in its beauty and its legends and stories.
Please note: Pena Palace uses a time-slot booking system, so entry times can sell out—especially in high season. When you choose “Tickets” at checkout, we will try to secure Pena Palace tickets for the most suitable available slot. If Pena Palace is sold out, we’ll arrange Quinta da Regaleira tickets as the alternative and your guide will adapt the route to keep the day smooth and enjoyable.
As of the April 2, 2026, Pena Palace introduced new visiting regulations, particularly for the interior of the palace. These measures were implemented to improve the flow of visitors and make the overall experience more efficient, especially during busy periods. Under these new rules, guides are no longer permitted to provide commentary inside the palace rooms.
Our Full Visit includes the park, terraces, scenic viewpoints, chapel, kitchen, and the interior of the palace. Your guide will accompany you throughout the entire experience, providing commentary and assistance in every area of the visit, with the only exception being inside the palace house, where guided explanations are no longer allowed.
Before entering the interior, your guide will share all the necessary historical and contextual information, and will then continue accompanying you inside the palace. Although they may not speak during this part of the visit, they will remain with you throughout the experience to ensure everything runs smoothly.
